hi all.

modded a xbox and thought i would try a wii.
Got a wii key mod chip a week ago and couldnt wait to get stuck in.Opened up my console and found the chip has 3 missing legs.. a D2B
board..some sites are saying i need a different mod chip and one site says solder it onto pin 5 of the chip.

i did this after some effort as the pitch is really fine..put the will back together. powered up and it worked as normal..

The question is should i see something different on the screen??to say its modded???
I also downloaded rawdump software but said there was a problem with my dvd drive when trying to read a disc.. do i need a LG drive as i have a LG GSA-H55L which needs installing..any help would be great or am I a bus ride out on what ive done so far..

The only way to test if the modchip is working is to stick a backup in and see what happens. You wont see anything different than normal on the screen. If you dont have a game iso handy the quickest thing to do is grab the 1.9s wiikey update from here and see if it boots. If it does then good job, otherwise you'll have to open it up and check your soldering.

And rawdump requires the LG drive.

It'll say "MODDED WII" in big flashing letters on one of the channels.
