Hi everyone!

I've been trying to make my Wiikey work for three days now, and still I don't have a clue what is wrong...

I can't boot Wiikey setup disk, any backup games or anything that is burned in a DVD-R disk (disk can't be recognized). If there's something good, then it's that my original games still do work.

I would really appreciate it, if someone could give me a tip... where to start from? Here's a picture of my current soldering. Maybe somethings badly screwed and I just can't see it.

I really appreciate it if someone could help me! :) Thx.

Hi again!

I got the chip working! After 2 unlucky solderings, I decided I'd try to solder the chip with wires, and vóila! Now everything works. Only bad thing is about my DVD:s. Traxdata DVD's really seem to suck very bad. They don't work at all, and I was ripping my hair off wondering what could be wrong.

Verbatim DVD-R using imgburn @ 4x is the most compatible with most burners.

I'd recommend a wire install everytime rather than the (supposedly easier) quick solder method. It is very easy to pull up the fine tracks on the drive board if you are not careful. Also make sure you have the correct thickness of wire. if it is too thick it will make the install 100x harder than it needs to be.

Yeah, the quicksoldering really seems to be easier, but after my experience, I'd say it's a lot easier to do it with wires. I also bought Verbatim DVD's, and everything seems to work perfectly. Great! Even the update and configuration went fine, after I noticed the reset button can be used instead of the classic controller, which I didn't have.

Just make sure you have enough wire, because I ran out and had a bit of a problem...

And solder it down properly as mine just kept popping off

Or the best option (I think) is to get it done by a pro
