umm im a little bit confused about what is the meaning of downgrading or upgrading the custon firmware of psp.. what's the best firmware for psp slim series 2000 with OFW 3.80???

The newest version is 3.90m33-3. I just switched from 3.80m33-5 and so far I've found that to be better, it was easier to get IRshell to run on (a popular plugin).

To get CFW on your PSP slim you'll need to get a Pandora Battery and make a Magic Memory stick. The link below is more in depth and should clear things up a bit more. Feel free to ask some more specific questions once you've read it.

Please don't take any offence to this but if you have never hard modded a battery before than you should really consider purchasing one rather than doing it yourself. I'm only saying this to save you from bricking your PSP. (trust me its easy if you have nevre tried downgrading before). Making the magic memory stick from the guide you could do, but the battery part requires a steady hand and some soldering knowledge.

i agree with Ex_hoc you would be better off buying a tool battery
