Hey Guys
Im very new to this modding business buts ive been looking at lots of threads to try and get some knowledge on it and I kinda have an idea on what I want.

Ive been looking at this http://www.ic2005.com/shop/product.php?printable=Y&productid=78
since I dont really want to solder anything

My Wii Serial is LEH12922984 and I have checked on wiitracker and it came out with this:

Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2B.
Your Drive Pins are most likely cut. (Is this accurate or will i have to open my wii to make sure?)

What I would like to know is am I able to use the Open-Clip chip with my wii?
If no and this is because the Pins are cut, would I be able to add these on myself and would it be very difficult?

Thanks for any help :)

I'd not bother with open-clip m8... If you're a novice it's not for you and really it's not the best solution if you aren't either really.

D2B - you can still use a wii-clip solution with any of the following chips... wiikey, wasabi, argon, infectus 2

The chips have to be soldered into the clips and there are pre-soldered packages for sale - you just have to find them. I've listed them in order of how future-proof they are and this is reflected in the price. It's difficult trying to understand the various technical aspects but I'd try and spend some time reading about the various ones. If you want to cut to the chase with a bog standard chip then wiikey will do or wasabi might well be the cheapest one you can find presoldered at this time. Whatever chip you go with you will need to read up on various issues like updating, region bricking and other stuff. There are stickies you can refer to in this section and they are recommended reading.

Wii 3.2E w/ Wiikey 1.9s :: PSP 3.90 M33-3 :: NDS w/ R4DS :: Nokia N95
