Can't get CWcheat to work with PSX games

I'm running CWF 3.9 M33-2 on a fat PSP with popsloader and fatsmod installed. All the cwcheat options are enabled in the recovery menu. I've tried on two different memory cards, one Sony and one Sandisk, and cwcheat works fine with any PSP game I try it with, but no matter how long I hold select the menu will not appear in the one PSX game I want to use it with, FF7.

If anyone could help me out here I'd really appretiate it.

did u make a POPS.txt file and put the plugin line ?

Hectic weekend, :P Yeah I did. Or to be more acurate, I already had the file, I added the line to it.

Oh, just to update a little, I tried it on several other PSX games over the weekend as well. So it's not just FF7, it won't work in any of them.
