D2Pro stopped reading backups that used to read before

D2Pro stopped reading backups that used to read before. This happened out of the blue. I was playing my backup, then put an original that i hadn't made a backup already, and then when I inserted the other backup again i was getting an 'unable to read disc'. This happened to all my other backups too [that they used to play before]. The originals play ok.

No update was applied in the meanwhile, nor anything else funny (ie the wii was not shaken so no pins could have been moved inside). It just stopped playing.

I use Verbatim +R [and the backups used to work before] burned with Imgburn at x2, I got a D2pro with flexcb installed. The Wii is PAL and it still plays the original games. Firmware is 3.2.

I have read a few other people having the same problem [backups stopped working], but then nobody says how the fix it [except 2 cases where their wii were back to normal the following day - mine isn't. ANd a few others that apparently have other mods and did some upgrades].

Might be a dry joint - it doesn't have to move for solder points to break... there is plenty of temperature variation inside the box to affect any joint that is weak. Open it up and check everything with a multimeter.

turn it off and on again. sometimes moded consoles acts strangesly. i have d2pro with wii clip and it does happened once.

ok, I fixed it. A friend of mine that is more knowledgeable, using his multimeter, found out that 2 joints needed resoldering. Strange though. I didn't expect the temp variation to affect them so much.
