I haven't tried Burnout on the psp yet - I intend to very soon.
Having said that, I'm a Flat out head on addict - (and irrespective of which is the better game) within the genre of racing games on the psp it is a must have and one of the very finest. So much to do and cars with very different characteristics.
I picked up Burnout Dominator, and I thought that I was pretty cool. The graphics are great as well as the game play itself. I think that I'm heading back to Game Stop to pick up Legends. However, Flat Out looks really cool too and I know that I would like to give it a try.
I managed to have a good workout on Burnout last night, to properly compare and contrast it with Flat out.
Amazing how similar the games are on initial inspection - one must have inspired the other?
Ultimately with two such closely matched games (in all respects) I think it comes down to personal preference - I don't think one is necessarily better than the other.
My preference?
For me, Flat out is still my favourite that I think I will keep coming back to. It feels a bit more "anarchic" and the handling of the vehicles is more on the edge - Burnout has a bit of a Ridge racer feel about it when it comes to handling, taking corners and bouncing off the scenery. The cars feel too planted on the ground and there is no real run off. If you leave the track on Flatout, chances are you're gonna hit a tree head on and get flung out of the car. Just a bit more realistic.
Flatout is more realistic like you're car drifts alot in mud and in high-speed >_>
But Burnout is more FUN :)
I mean HECK YEAH !!!
Bash cars and make them fly in mid-air !!! 8)
I like both but prefer Burnout over Flatout anyday :)

Burnout is a fast paced arcade racer series, FlatOut is all about a destructable scenery, neither are really that realistic, though FlatOut is moreso. It all depends who you are.
I'm gunna have to side with Burnout, it's always been a great series; PS2, PSP and PS3 :)
PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)
PS3 3.01 - iPod Touch 2G 16GB Jailbroken - Xbox 360 60GB - PC, Q6600, 3GB DDR2, GTX260 (216) 896MB
i think flatout head on is better than Burnout .. i have both of games but i never play burn out ..flatout is better , best graphics than burnout etc...
