Hey. I'm a guy who usually deals with Xbox 360s, but seeing how.. well I'll just skip to the interesting parts.

I need a (1) Wiikey and a (1) Argon chip and I live in Sweden. Anyone know any cheap stores for those? Preferably dealing in dollars as the USD is pretty weak right now.

I'd also like to see what you guys thing is the best chip for the D2C models. The Argon seems to be popular, but I can get a hold (locally) a D2CKey with a FlexPCB for a pretty cheap sum ($30). Or would you say the D2Pro is a better alternative than Argon?

Help me decide. And thanks in advance. :)

I'm going to be ordering from Mod-Chip.bz, to get a chip for my D2C! They sell the Wiikey, but I think it's the Clone Version! These guys are located in Hong Kong, and they ship worldwide! They've got the lowest prices that I've seen!

Ok, I've come across that site and techsick.com which both seem to be good. But are there any others with similar prices? I'm now mainly after those Wii-Clips I've been reading so much about.

Those clips make me regret ever having spent $350 on "hardcore" soldering equipment. :S :S :S Especially since, if I start selling 'em, I'll effectively put Myself out of business, soldering wise.

Oh, and I'm looking to buy a few, like 10, and maybe 10 D2CKey chips as well. Anyone know where I can get a better deal buying more?

Sorry, I already found two sources.

http://www.mod-chip.bz/ For chips. The more you buy the cheaper they get. $20 for a D2CKey if you get 7!

http://www.ic2005.com/ For Wii-Clips. Super cheap if you can stand the wait some people are reporting.

If you're a modder like I, these sites are pure gold. A nugget the size of my fist. ^_^

Bumping my old thread. The sites I got a hold of are great, sure, but I need some cheap D2Pro chips too.

Does anyone know any places which offers wholesale prices on them? Please link me to some sites. :)

You could try Modchip Central. They have the D2Pro!

I actually just got my D2CPro from Mod-chip.bz, and it's working great! I really recommend them! And if you are a member of the Wiinewz forums, they will give you a 10% discount!

10%, eh? Why didn't anyone tell me that before I ordered several hundred dollars worth of stuff? :P

Anyway, the more I read about D2Pro it just seems like there's so little difference between it and D2CKey. Only the amount of wires seem to differ.

http://www.d2ckey.com/ says:

If you have a D2CKey already installed in your console, you are not missing out on anything! If you have a D2CKey which hasn't been installed yet, all this means is that you have some extra wires to solder. It will still do everything that a d2pro can do once installed!

Yet everyone keeps screaming D2Pro is so much better than D2CKey. Well, I'm not buying it. Both figuratively and literally. :P

The reason people are saying to get the D2Pro, is because you can get a programmer for it, so that you can update the Firmware via USB! You can also get other Firmwares to upload, but I don't think they would work, because they were made for another chip!

And I have the D2CPro which is different from the D2Pro! The D2CPro is basically a Clone of the D2CKey, but uses better quality materials!

It's funny how D2CPro, a clone of D2CKey, is more expensive when you buy more of them. :P

Anyway, the programmer seems pretty unnecessary. If you're a modder like me and sell a customer a D2Pro over a D2CKey because it has programming capabilities (which D2CKey also has btw), then you're not telling them they need to buy a programmer and open the Wii up again to reprogram the chip. It's an unnecessary extra cost.

Oh well, not that interesting a conversation anymore. Close the thread.

Just so you know though, With the programmer, you don't have to open up your Wii to use it! Once the D2Pro is installed, it has a Ribbon Cable that reaches toward the Back of the Wii, and you can connect the programmer there, and just connect via USB. Just to clear things up!

I did see that the D2CKey can use a Programmer now! You get something called a D2CKey Bridge, and that solders to the bottom of the D2CKey, and then you use the same method of the Ribbon Cable.
