I have a 360 with 5.3 firmware
I also have my orig.bin with key, but not sure how to use it, as I don't have my original usb boot disk any longer.

can someone tell me how to go from 5.3 to 1.4
step by step I don;t want to stuff it up

I understand that but I am not sure how to import my old orig.bin file or if I need to use it at all ????

You dont need to because you DVDKEY is already in the xtreme firmware on you drive.. so just use iprep with the ixtreme 1.4 firmware

Do I need to use the bad flash method as my drive is now an MS28
and no longer an MS25 because of flashing to 5.3 ?

I do have a VIA card that I can use for this ?

you will need to Copy your orig.bin into the appropriate folder.
Run the Make iXtreme firmware batch file
This will create a ix14.bin file for flashing

or purchase a new USB drive and run iprep to make bootable drive iprep does it all.
