please can someone help me. Ive sent my dvd drive off to get flashed as it was a v79 that needed to have a chip installed.... but royal mail have lost my package so i now have a 360 with no drive! how can i go about getting and installing a new drive?

first off all, you screwed up by sending the drive by itself. since you need the console AND the drive to flash the drive. but other than that, you are now stuck with a 400 dollar paper weight.

One thing I always try to tell people. If you are going to send your dvd drive off to be flashed, make sure you get that original F/W somehow before you send it.

Now like was already said, you basically have a $400 brick.

I would call that courier service up and make them find it.

he couldnt have the original FW as it needed to be chiped before it could be flashed. but im curious as to why he only sent the drive, as it needs to be the entire 360, unless it was being sent out to be chipped, and sent back so the owner could flash it. that would be the only reason i can think of, unless theres a new way to flash the 79s.
