Hello all,

I have a wiikey from almost a year ago with no updates for my wiikey. I have been downloading the system updates from certain games. Was I not supposed to download these updates? I did one for Metroid which was ntsc-usa and I did not know not to do an update from another region's game.

I got mario kart (pal), because usa wasnt available yet and my excitement made me foolishly go through with the update. No More Settings! After reading a few threads i am wondering if I have the 3.2 pal now. Will I be semibricked until a 3.3 USA NTSC game comes out? Also can I still do the 1.9 update for my wiikey or should I wait?

Help me pleeaasseee! I thank you guys very much!

Maybe Mario Kart USA can fix it. If not, wait for Wii Fit. You could also try other games release from now on.

I heard that updating from other regions was ok as long as you kept your wii updated from the system menu to the latest firmware, is that not true? Maybe I got it wrong, I dont' know.

I have an ntsc wii w/ wiikey and 1.9s update, and a friend of mine brought me wiifit from japan recently. I bit the bullet and did the update, and everything ran fine. A few of my channels show up in japanese now, but that's it. I was worried I'd have to re-apply the japanese/us updates every time I switched between ssbb and wii fit, but so far I haven't had to do anything.

Can you access your wii settings after the update?

Yeah, I was still able to access the settings. I think the only thing that changed was that my clock switched to 24 hour time after the update. The setup menu itself was still in english and everything though. I'll check it again tonight to verify everything else is the same and let you know.

I'm sketchy on pal updates though...i've heard those have given wiikey'd ntsc wii's more trouble. I'll probably follow others' advice of using regionfrii and brickblocker... dont' want to test my luck.
