In the book Dracula by Bram Stoker, evil things are said to occur on St. George's Day, beginning at midnight.

WTF is english about the red cross?? St George was from palestine and the cross was adopted by henry of anjou while on crusade, father of henry1 of england... Not much english about that.

What does being British have to do with it? As far as I'm aware, St. George is the Patron Saint of England. Wales have St David, the Irish, St Patrick and the Scots, St Andrew.

While we're on the matter, I do prefer the term English, as British implies I'm something to do with the Welsh, Scottish or (Northern) Irish ;-)

But quite frankly, I just don't care enough.

Why should I give a crap about the emblem or day of the foreign oppressors? FYI.. It isn't and has never been a public holiday in england.. so officially the whole country doesn't give a toss about it either.
