this site http://usbgecko.com/ says using this product u can connect your wii to your pc and dump wii or gamecube games to you pc and can even dump dual layer dvd games to your pc,run homebrew etc.now i have a lg8164b to read the wii games and the raw dump now do you guys think this new product is better to use to dump wii games than the lg dvd rom drive methad and is faster?i wonder if it dumps the games as isos 2.hmmmmmm..

The usbgecko is by no means new. It's been out for several months now and in addition to being able to dump games using it you can also use it to load cheats. If you search you can find more info about it. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/610573

It takes roughly the same amount of time to dump the game but I beleive it dumps in raw form, not isos.

is it easier to use to run homebrew on the wii(compared to the zelda twilight hack) and to dump the games or should i stick with my lg drive to dump the games and use the zelda twilight hack for homebrew?

Well its definatly cheaper to dump with the LG drive. You dont have to buy another thing since you already have the drive.

As for the homebrew situtation, its probably easier to use the gecko for it than twilight hack, but only if the gecko supports wii homebrew. Everything that I saw on the demo for the gecko was gamecube homebrew. Which is fine but theres easier ways to do it than that.

what is the latest raw dump version to use with my lg drive to back up the wii games and does the software support dual layer games?Thanks.
