i have a problem with my dvd player (Pioneer DVR-A06)

my sotware:

nero 6
sonic recordnow dx
disc juggler

for recordnow dx every time i burn either my dvd-r or cd-r, halfway through it always says that there is a problem with my disc.I checked my disc, its always clean and i even bought a disc cleaner but still couldnt work.

for nero, it was worse. When the burning was abt to start, it will say burn process failed.

the worst was with disc juggler.it wouldnt even start.

im guessing that the software combination made these errors. But i want to make sure b4 uninstalling any of them.Oh yeah, i have also used different kinds of brands of cdr and dvdr but was not succesful.Pls help!

Nero and RecordNow are friends, I would think about voting Disc Juggler off the island -

Question time if that doesn't work -

1. Have you checked the compatibility of your media ?
Note: Until your problem is resolved, either use a virtual drive i.e. Alcohol 120% OR using RW media to cut down on coaster production.

2. Did your burner EVER work correctly ?

3. If the answer to number 2 was yes,
When is the last time you ran a cleaning disc
through your burner ?

Hi guys,
Nero has a registry checker and drive clean tool that may help.

hey guess what..

IT ALL WORKED !!! YIPEE !!!

I uninstalled disc juggler (thx ScubaPete) and used the registry checker (thx fasfrank) and in god's name it worked

ok,enough of it..i have some more questions

1. For those who have Pioneer DVR-A06, what is the cheapest alternative to Verbatim DVD-R DataLifePlus since i found that mine's is most compatible to it.

2. Since I uninstalled Disc Juggler, i cant burn .cdi files. Can Nero do it ? With the help of a plug in if there is..

Thank You

One thing to remember in this dvd backup business, Cheap IS NOT always the way to picking media. If you find a brand that works well for you, stick with it. Or just buy a few of others to try. Burners and players are quite picky sometimes. I buy Ritek from Meritline in the USA. They also sell sample packs of about 5 different brands packaged together just for this reason. Keep trying and have some fun. Don't let the problems get to you.

cronoxz,

Since ya liked our other info - I figured I chime in with another vote for using Ritek form Meritline. I buy +R 4X media in the 100 pk. for $0.89 ea. and I also use Verbatim media (a bit more costly, that - cheaper in the 30 pk. on ebay).

"P"
PS - Glad you're happy.

Hahaha...

ScubaPete, Jerry746 and fasfrank;

reminds me of the film The Three Amigos

especially so with the "Old-Timer" gig going on in so many threads.

Keep it up Guys.

Hi guys,
hey dr, watch out now, I just traded one of my many DVD burners for about 50lbs of Computer books. I will soon be dangerous.

cronoxz, Congratulations on your success! Use the best media avalible, saves many headaches and hair-pulling-out sessions. I use Memorex 4X +R. I paid $100.00 for 50. ( I would recommend shopping a bit more than I do.) They work great in my A-06 but be sure to try those mentioned by Pete and Jerry.

Adios,
Paco

"Yo," I said, "Yo, Doc"

I'm familiar with the movie -

The problem, as I see it, twid seem your-fine-self has a latent sick sense of humor -

Me's be a-thinkin?' that with a bit more exposure to The Fastman, Crazy Jerry and lil' Ole' me, you just might find yourself blossoming to the point that you would be perceived by others and should I dare say it ? I should, I should (and that would be the end of my Mel Brookes impersonation) you just might just find yourself associated with us, Well, I say, ?Well, why then we'd be da 4 something - (as long as it's not the four men of the Apocalypse) we?ll come to that broken bridge when we get there -

I guess it could be the 4 Amigo's - they would have to change the movie?s name - we're more current ? yep, let them change it -

Something to ponder -

(closin' my eyes to ponder, sleep, ponder, slee - -, Pon - -, sl -

Yo Pete,

A latent sick sense of humour.
So where's the problem?

It may come to pass, the "Gang of Four" thingie, sorta like a cut-down version of the Magnificent Seven (bags I the Robert Vaughn character - quiet, cynical, world-weary).

Hey Frank,

50 lb of books?
Is that US pound? or metric pound, or troy pound?
Dangerous?
Just don't drop them on ya foot, OK!!

Have Fun...

Yah,

Frank is favourite for the Steve McQueen character?
(think bikes and The Great Escape).

What about Jerry tho??

Have Fun...
