I want to get my sister one of these for her birthday, but im not sure which one to get. I assume they all do the same thing (generally) so it comes down to which card does it best. She wouldnt be putting movies and junk on it, mostly games and emulators. I hear alot about the R4, but i rarely hear any other carts mentioned. Do they suck that bad, or is the R4 just the popular one?

i have bought about 30 r4ds , 5 m3ds simply and 5 m3ds real for family and friends and all working as they should playing all games ive thrown at them.
i suggest you get either an Acekard 2 or Supercard DS One. these are the newest on the market and in term of price/quality/features, these two are the best imo. forum user 'killalot' (see thread: Which is beter Acekard2 or CycloDS evolution?) bought Acekard 2 on my recommendation and is very happy with it. depending where u r of course buying local is always better. cheapest is from hong kong, your choice.
After reading he reviews im pretty sure ill be getting an Acekard 2. Great price on them and they seem very compatible. The M3Real looks pretty decent, but the acekard seems to have more compatibility. I like the fact that it doesnt take over and still lets you use the DS's main menu.
Her birthday isnt until june, but i like to make sure i know what i am doing, lol.
