good thing i found this forum. pls. can anyone tell me how will you know the firmware, the modchip and the region of your wii? my uncle gave me a wii as his present. he bought it at japan and im from europe. i dont undestand a thing about my wii!!. i tried calling him but a went straight to singapore so he ask about the wii he bought. but he said the wii is already modified but he dont know what type of modchip.. the way i read about the posts, updating your firmware is also important. and thats why i dont try my downloaded games bcoz i might brick my wii. i tried once and it appeared all black some japanese words, the only thing i undesrtood there is wii. thats all. pls can someone help me about this. thank you. . .

i forgot. can you please give me the step by step instructions? like "press the left button" "press the top button" etc. I CANT UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING. thank you! if you can. . kindly post pics if you can.

NTSC(J) = Japan
NTSC(U) = USA
PAL = Europe and other pal countries i think
