Alright,

If you have custom frimware install go into the recovery menue and format and reset your flash1. this should fix your probelm.

To get to recovery:

-Turn off the PSP
-turn is back on while holding the R button
-scroll down to Advanced
-than scroll down to Format Flash1 and reset settings

The system settings isn't in the recovery menu, it's in xmb (normal screen)...

Have you tried turning on your psp WITHOUT PRESSING any buttons? That should get you to XMB (aka Main Menu/Cross Media Bar).

Format the memory stick with another PSP (if it recognizes it) and try again on your PSP. Note that it will delete ALL your data including Gamesaves.

So its the memory card... try formatting it with a card reader or another thing that supports it.

It's most likely your firmware or PSP most likely of the two: your PSP.

Just check with Gameshop.. ! They inform me that SanDisk 8GB is not support for PSP Phat (3.40oe-a).

They have put in the 1GB SanDisk (they have 2 unit of 1GB) and it run without any problem.

Is it true that 8GB SanDisk isn't support for PSP Phat(fat)?

Should I upgrade the firmware?

To be able to use a 8GB memorystick you must be in firmware 3.90m33+

8gb is now compatible in 3.90 even if your psp is Phat\Slim

im using 4gb and 8gb(MagicGate:Unsupported)memorystick pro duo card and no problem at all!!!

My psp is 3.90m33-3 Phat type console..............................

does 3.90m33 for the slim reconise the 8gb card because you need the v2 update for the fat to support it or was that because the 1.50 fw overwrote a file that stored data on how much memory from the memory card can be loaded and it was change with the v2

also gurubesar was it a 8gb card then that you had i would have thought theyed run with 3.40oe because they where out at the same time? but if you update your cfw then you will be able to read 8gb cards

but because your on 3.40oe you will need to update to 3.52m33-4 and then update to 3.71m33+

hope that helps you out
