Hi there, i couldnt find any "nylon" / plastic suitable washers to do the x clamp mod. So i found some rubber black ones.
I have metal and rubber washers , were the rubber is against the motherboard ( not the metal washers ) and the metal is behind the rubber. anyways what im trying to understand is why do you need non metalic washers that touch the mobo ? cant you just use metal all the way? the heatsinks are metal and they touch the mobo... so umm yea. So is it ok if i use those?

You can purchase the full x-clamp fixing pack on eBay
8 Exact Fit Nylon Washers
8 exact fit thin spring washers
8 Exact Fit Metal Washers
8 Exact Fit Screws
They are as chip as chips

I would assume nylon is to stop shorting out something

Not sure if your taking the P~ss.
I just removed the fans and let it run with out them for a few minuets you soon have the 2 left led flashing red.
Then you know its cooked, how long you leave it on then is up to you.
Never tried the towel trick
I took 360 apart with warranty sticker intact and itact when i put it back together it was out of warranty when I tried to fix, and it was a 2005 model
E74 error was still on 360 when I sold on eBay
