Guy n Gals.
This is driving me insane.
I can copy DVDs but they only play on me PC.
I have DVD shrink 3.0 beta 1.
Nero 5.5.10.0.
DVDX Copy
DVD Decryptor 3.1.1.0
Burnatonce 0.99b.
I have used grade A DVD-R and others.
Could anyone with the knowledge to use these programes give me a diffinitive guide to copying discs able to play on stand alone equipment?
Please give me a faultless guide as I really am getting tired of coasters. I am sure if I can post success to this thread many may find it easy to follow.
Thank you all.
PRODISC.
Thank you

Prodisc, Most dvd copies can be made with DVDshrink and Nero. Go to the top of the forum page and click (guides).
Then print out the one for using DVDShrink. Try that, then get back to us if you have problems. Your problem could be a mis-match between the media you are burning (+R,-R) and what your stand alone will play. It has to match. If you burn a +R and the player only plays -R, it won't work. Check the specs on your player. Give us more information on how far you get before you have trouble.

also make sure that you burn into a VIDEO_TS folder. this is a common reason why it works in computers but not standalones. It is a necessary component of the dvd structure for the standalone to recognize the dvd-video.

The DVD Writer Is a Pioneer DVR 105.
Stand alone is the Alba dvd 45. It reads other discs of the same nature but not what I produce?

Ok I'll try a quick rundown. Open shrink, then open disc if you are doing a dvd. If you want a full disc backup, all you can edit from this window is audio tracks. let assume you want full disc. Click backup and assign or pick location to save the files. remember where you sent them. Shrink saves files to HD. Next Open Nero. I only use Express- dvd video section. Open window should show 2 folders on left side named AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS on right is add button. Click add and browse to saved shrink file location. Select ALL shrink files and add or drag them INTO the VIDEO_TS folder. Make sure the go inside. Then click burn. If you download DVDshrink version 3.11, It should auto start Nero put the files in the proper folder for you. This is a new feature in DVDshrink. It works with Nero 6, so I think it will work for 5.5 too hopefully. Try this and let us know if it works.

check your disc on your computer. see if all the files are in a VIDEO_TS folder. if they are not, then this most certainly is the problem. if they are, it obviously is something else.
when you say grade a dvd-r, what brands specifically are you trying.
make sure you have the latest Nero updates and check out the settings at these websites and see if they can help.

Right.
I have just made my first stand alone copy. I followed the guide for DVD-9 above, first it would not work. Threw it into DVD X Copy and hey presto it works. Any ideas?

Gavin.
