D2PRO/Wii-ClipV4

I have been experiencing an odd problem with my wii. If I put my wii into standby mode, I never have any problems with the wii reading discs. If I turn standby off and left my wii sit for an extended period of time (6-12 hours), when I turn the wii on it will not read originals or backups it just clicks. I then turn the drive off for about two minutes and when I turn it back on it will read the disc and continues to do so for any disc until the system sits powered down for 6-12 hours. I have read articles about standby being bad, so I am looking for a solution for powering down my wii and avoiding the annoying clicking drive. Any suggestions?

not sure what your problem really is, but with my wiiclip v4 + d2pro wii, i press the power button till its yellow or red, then unplug when its not in use...

no far no problems.
