A lot of people in the world think of Dark Alex as god, me being one of them. The only people that do not like him are the people that are in the gaming industry.
One thing I would like to know is if he is working on hacking the PS3?
I know electronics are bound to be hacked one day, but for the ps3 when is this day going to be coming around?
What is making hacking the PS3 so difficult?

Sony learned its lesson with the PSP. Sony recognized that the PSP was a hackers B$#*@ so they took the extra mile to make the PS3 as hacker proof as possible. So far they are doing well but for how long? Who knows?? It's probably safe to assume that the title of "The one who was able to hack the PS3 first" is well coveted by the hacking community so it will be only a matter of time.

I've not heard anything about Alex hacking the PS3. He was a legend on the PSP of course, but I've only heard people assuming that he's working on the PS3. Does anyone know for sure if he even works at it? For all I know, he's probably playing CoD4 right now or watching a Blu-ray.

The PS3 might never be properly hacked. Even if it does, sony can just make an update to fix it. Id be happy with homebrew and being able to play PS1 and PS2 backups, oh and NTSC PS1 games aswell. I wanna play Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross on my PS3 but there both in NTSC :(

Yeah I want to play my NTSC-J PS2 copy of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike again. I don't mind so much about anything else at this point.

WHO CARES!!!
Seriously, what does it matter? Do you have a bluray burner? do you have blank blurays? Would it even be cost effective to create backups?
i mean this list could go on forever.

True, but there would always be the prospect of launching the iso's off a large external HDD or even the main HDD assuming they found a way to get formats other than fat32 to read. And they're working on bluray disks with organic ink that are much cheaper to produce atm, when they are going to be released if ever idk.
At the same time seriously who is going to download a 20-50gb iso, the size of the file is just retarded large to work with; which is a plus for the rest of us and people who legitamently backup disks because it makes it a pain in the ass for the butt pirates.

Dark Alex is known as the God of PSP hacking. He has not even shown his face in the PS3 hacking scene. He may be working on it, he may not, but it is not fair to expect him to do so. He is human. Sony doesn't want the PS3 turning into the PSP. As posted earlier a fully working linux distro is the only thing I'm looking forward to. Dark Alex thank you for the work you have done with the PSP. If you are retired you deserve the break.

I dont think id bother downloading a massive ISO. It takes me like a week to download a PS2 game so PS3 games are out of the question, and I would not buy a bluray burner or discs, havnt got the money for all that. I just want homebrew, emulators and PS1/PS2 backup and region overide. But I really dont think its ever gonna happen. Plus it might sound stupid, but I like to have the proper game box and stuff :D If I had a choice between downloading MGS4 or buying it, id definatly buy it, I love the boxart :D Same goes for GTA IV (which by this time tomorrow I'll hopefully be playin)

DA is a firmware coder for the psp end off.
the psp's sercurity was shit and full of holes even newbies could hack it after a few read me's.
albeit DA made a few amazing c/fs but HE WASNT THE FRIST.
the ps3 is a whole new kettle of fish because everything has different algorithms and keys there are DEFINITELY no holes left in this and any that are get updated via firmware as soon as a hacker gets to close to running an unsinged code.
personally i think sonys beat us on this one well at least until cheaper more powerfull computers are avaliable to the public you can forget about any sort of ps3 hacks.

true, technology is the key to cracking. Just takes time. the man power is there... technology not. when it becomes cheaper the day will come when the ps3 will be cracked.
somoene will be sleeping in the middle of the night after 3 days of working hard hacking the ps3 and then they will lean up in the dark and say, "I got it!" and there you go somone will hack the issue of having to do an update.
technology can be programmed, then it can be reprogrammed or even disabled.
money is another thing. it takes time for technology to become cheaper. it takes money to bribe people that work on the "inside".
America is kinda in a resession, but when that is over the times will be easier.
good luck to the hackers and keep up the good work.
