nokia 6111 registration code - unlock Help!

Hi, i've an Orange 6111 from UK and want to put Meteor sim card in it - get stuck at "registation code - error"

have input codes from this site, but to be honest; don't really know what I'm doing!

If anyone could help out with exact step by step instructions!! i've tried one of the tips here that says start phone without sim and press # to proceed but im unable to do this as phone gives option of starting phone with/without sim and then straight into "normal" mode/menu.

any help greatly appreciated.
