I was running 1.2 version of wiikey fw all was well.

I downloaded 1.9s and upgraded firmware and it wouldn't read the config disk. I searched around and somewhere told them to upgrade wii software. I did that and now no game backups work.

Real games work fine. Can someone help me please?

I have the same problem as well afer the update, I manage to resolve this problem via format the wii + wiikey recovery disc. see my post on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/658694

I format my wii x2 times. first time I didn't have the recovery disc in the drive. 2nd time I have the disc in.

Have fun!!!

Here Is the problem.

Nintendo with the release of mario kart wii edition here in the u.s.a nintendo updated the firmware to a new version with updated security basicly it is still firmware 3.2 with some hidden extras that lock out certain mod chip's Kinda sucks if you have a u.s Wii.

Now for the rest of the country i have no idea if they released the same update....

But here in the u.s.a my own wii is now a door stop thanks to nintendo.

at susieqbb: Let me get this right. Basically you are saying that If I play Mario Kart on my USA wii (which has a wiikey), I will most probbably render it useless due to the included firmware update? Are you sure this was the cause in your case? If so would you kindly include more information about your wii and modchip including firmware versions.
Thanks

There is nothing wrong with the MK update. It is safe to go ahead and do it.

Thanks NDarkness, I already tried playing MK, and as you said the update is safe even with wiikey firmware 1.9g.

Susieqbbb next time you post such assertions, please make sure they are correct, as they are misleading (I was really scared for a moment), although Im sure those were not your intentions.

been working on this all day. At one point in time I got it to show that I had a GC game in so i put the 1.9s upgrade in it and then clicked play and it just rebooted and now i'm back to square one.

Is there any way to update via sd card???
