I have a Wii from North America with the Wii D2CKey chip installed..

I am in Europe and bought the WiiFit (European) It wants me to update but I don?t want to in risk of bricking my Wii.

Any answers would really help..

I have been searching these forms for the past two days with-out someone with the exact same problem..

Dont let it update, that will brick the wii.

Rip an iso from the disk and brickblock it or use trucha to remove the update from the image.

you cannot read it in a regular computer you need to use your mod chip to rip a copy of the game to a sd-card and or use a LG with hacked firmware sorry...

I had the exact same problem with PAL Wii Fit and my Japanese Wii. Downloaded an ISO and brickblocked it, but it doesn't play. Looks like Wii Fit PAL's just like Super Mario Galaxy, stuck to its own region.

Morning, I'll throw in my 2 pence worth as well

I have a PAL Wii modded with a WiiKey 1.9s updated from this very forum, all my games work fine but I have heard that inserting the original PAL version of Wii Fit asks for a system update and could potentially brick your Wii

Is this true?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the advice.. I think some of it will be a little to tricky for my knowledge..

So i am download a iso and will use wii brickblocker 1.3 on it..

I guess if this does not work.. I will have to wait for Wii Fit to be released in North America before I can download that ISO..

I've just bought a Wii with a Wii Fit both in Japanese. I live in China and that's all they have available, unlucky for me as I don't read much Japanese, but it comes pre-chipped. If I was to download the English version of the Fit disc, would that present any risk? I'm a Wii noob, so if it's risky please let me know. Also any other material anyone can point me to regarding the operation/updating of a Wii, I'd be grateful.

mrmixalot - updates of games from the same region of the console = 100% safe (both back up/original)

radiotic - english wii fit = different region than ur wii therefore = 100% brick, use online update instead

gwong - is your wii fit pal or ntsc-u? cuz if it craps out most likely u got a wrong region game; if not then maybe ur chip is loose or something

my console is a US version and i don't think it's a loose chip. but i do believe it's more like the firmware for the chip. i have a wiifree installed. don't have a programer, don't know how to program it, and don't know how to do it period.
