So went and got me a HDMI cable for my ps3 so i can play in HD and when i plug in the cable i can hear the sound but no video which is really the most important part. I have a 42" plasma panasonic supports 720p. dont know if its a ps3 problem, tv problem, or me problem. help please.

try to press tv/video input on your tv remote several times.goodluck.

Turn off your PS3 then start it up but hold onto the button for about 10-15 seconds until you hear a second beep, it should setup the PS3 for HDMI. If that doesn't work hook up both the composite cords and the HDMI and go through the XMB using the composite output and first change the video output settings to HDMI then change the audio.

And remember to switch your TV's channel to HDMI

If neither of those work check both the inputs on the PS3 and TV for dust or grease etc. as well as the HDMI cord itself.

ok thx, it works. i was looking for a video setting but didn't see anything that helped and panicked. didn't see that it said display setting. so fill like a moron but im sure you understand why i panicked. lol i'm lame
