ive got a modded japanese wii which i bought off ebay about 18 months a go,i was told that it has a wiikey in it.i have never updated the wii yet as most of the games work the latest being mario and sonic at the olympics.i have played japanese,pal and us ntsc games on the wii and it has been alright, if a game has gone to update my wii i have turned it off straight away as i didnt want to brick my wii.i know it can be dodgy playing out of region games.the question i want to know is if i get an original japanese wii fit will it safely update my wii and does it update itself as i cant read japanese.also has anyone played the japanese wii fit and is it playable to someone who cant read japanese.i know this is a long thread but if anyone could help i would be most greatful.thanks

If you have a Internet (WiFi) connection use the system settings to do the system update. HERE is a translation for Japanese Wii system settings.
