gta 4 dirty disc

i have downloaded both versions of gta 4 ( icon and 101) and it booted up once fine but now it says the disc is dirty. My drive is flashed and every other game i have burnt works perfect. I dont know whats going on i have tried the lowest speed possible and still i get the same problem? is anyone else encountering these problems that have a flashed drive?? thanks

why do you think lowering the read speed will help it read better?
Change it back to full speed boy.

first of all, how did you get both to boot, as one is a pal region, and the other is an ntsc and neither are region free? second of all, what brand of discs? if you didnt burn at 4x yet, do that, and it should work.

u need to use 8x or 12x on the 360 because anything any lower will cause a cluster FU<k of errors

No, you don't "need" to use 8x or 12x. All (except 1) 360's flashed with 5x here and no "cluster FU<k" errors of any kind.

thanks for the replys!. i have always burnt my games at 4X and they have always worked. 101 and icon are both ntsc. Got them from newsleecher like all my other games. I slowed down the burn incase something was wrong with my buffers. I have used both verbatum and memorex and i have the same problem.

Im having it say dirty disc..
i dont know if my drive is for sure flashed or not (yes im that much of a major noob!)

i got it 2 work once by pressing b at the dirty disc screen and then go down to play game and hit a

there is a 101 ntsc and a 101 pal multi. i downloaded the ntsc 101 and the icon ntsc

oh boy. you might want to read the tuts. and yes read speed does matter. use 8x or 12x but like i said, read the tuts, and most likely you will figure out your problem, or at least have a better sense of helping us help you. good info to know anyway.

I got the same problem. It loads every time but after 15-25 minutes i would get the error. I checked the disk and saw a slight scratch (probably the cause) on my Verbatim disk. I simply re-burnt a copy onto a memorex disk and its works fine. I dunno if brand of disk made any difference but regardless its workin for me

Bought a new burner yesterday and burned the game at 10X works perfectly. Thanks for the help guys

i have the same problem, i burned on Memorex and 15-25 mins into the game i get the dirty disc message, i have changed my POT and that hasnt helped, i am using ixtreme 1.4, i dont know if its cause of that firmware, if anyone can shine some more light on this for me i would apeceate it, thank you

Well, I wouldn't use Memorex at all, maybe if you used better media, the errors would cease.
