i'm fairly new to this any help would be appreciated..
i have a japanese modded wii, already updated wiikey to 1.9s
but my wiifirmware is still on 2.2J (not played a new game since i half-bricked my wii due to Mario Strikers Charged)..
now i have 3 simple goals:
1. I want to play Super Mario Galaxy 2. I want to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl 3. I want to play Mario Kart Wii they're simple right?
now here are my questions:
1. What should i get first? what update do i need to install first w/o risk of bricking?
2. Can i play those games with just backups downloaded from torrents? or do i need the original games?
3. How do i play those games in full english? do i need to use NTSC-U or just language patch their NTSC-J versions?
4. Can anyone who also have a modded jap wii that's already enjoying these 3 games in english tell me what they have done step by step?
please help me enjoy my wii again.. thanks very much!!
as long as its a JAP SSBB u r updating from you should be able to unbrick your wii, after that run a JAP MK to update the update it has inside to play the pal MK.
as stated above, my modded jap wii is half-bricked at 2.2J
next, i've upgraded by wiikey to 1.9s..
now here's the fun part:
i got the jap mario kart wiiiso and burned it..
it updated my wii to 3.1J but it gave me duplicate channels but good thing it REMOVED MY SEMI-BRICK!!, i can access the settings again..
* i confirm it, the jap mario kart has the 3.1J update
next i got the US smash bros. brawl iso and tried it and IT WORKED!!
* i did nothing to the iso, no WBB, no regionfrii, worked flawlessly and in full english
now all i need to try are the US super mario galaxy and the US mario kart wii and it would then have me achieve my goals!!

i've read that Wii Duplicate Channel remover only works with PAL units, so i think i'm gonna pass for now, what i've done is the temporary solution of hiding the dupes to the last page :D
anyway goal update!! i've tested Super Mario Galaxy (NTSC-U) and it worked!! used Wii Game Language Patcher, Wii Generic Patcher and Wii Brickblocker FTW!!
At last i also got Mario Kart Wii (NTSC-U) working.. i just used WiiBrickBlocker 1.3 and it worked.. now all my goals are complete and i have 3 new games in my hand to complete, thanks guys!! :D
