I followed these instructions to the tee! But when I put my magic Memory card and Pandora battery in, it starts to work but then it just stops and freezes. Can anyone help? I do have another fat psp with custon firmware too so that helps a little. I wanted to give the slim to my son.
This is the page with the instructions I followed.

I have a psp with custom firmware and since I couldn't get the slim to work, I bought another fat PSP and put custom firmware on that one. I still would like to get the slim up and running tho.
The problem is, when the normal slim battery is in, it seems like it's bricked. When the Pandora battery is in, I can launch the Ultimate Loader and load DCv3/4/5. But once I load them, when I hit x to install a firmware, it loads the updater modules and formats flash0 but basically stops after that. No lights blink anymore or anything.
The firmware that was on the slim PSP was 3.80 official.
I know that the pandora battery and my magic memory stick worked fine because the fat PSP that I bought for my son had 3.52 on it when I purchased it and was upgraded to 3.90m33 and works fine now.
If anyone can direct me to a tutorial SPECIFICALLY for a SLIM PSP it would be most greatly appreciated.
Problem solved. Bought my son a new fat PSP and modded it and gave the bricked slim away. Why stress myself and others. Just get rid of the problem. Thanks to all who helped out tho!
you can use THIS u.p.m.s. guide to get custom firmware on all fat/slim psp. the file is a cso, and since you already have a custom firmware psp, all you would've needed is a spare memory stick (preferably 256 or 512). i personally have a 256mb u.p.m.s., and it's the full install. very handy to have.
Ok this thread is officially closed. Somehow I messed up the Nand of the PSP and that was why the firmware would not write correctly resulting in the brick. but after installing a fresh Nand, it wrote fine. Now my son has his choice of which PSP he wants for his birthday. The other will prolly wind up on eBay. So a big shout out to all who helped, cee43ja 1, Luke 671, rickem, wichozzz and last but not least, bunny2209. Good lookin out, cuz you was my last resort. I was getting ready to ship it to buddy! I sincerely appreciate yall help.
