If Ixtreme 12x is for faster loads and more noise what effects will this have on a DVD+RDL Disc with max speed 2.4x I know the default is 12x but that's for Originals not DVD+RDL. I'm asking because I think this is what help killed my laser because everytime it Spins I hear a loud sound. I want to speed that is balance what do you think about 6x BUT then again I could be WRONG

personally i have mine at 8x and nothing is wrong. 12x is a little fast, and if you have that many ants in your pants then you can probably expect that to happen.

2.4x is just the max write speed for the disc u are using that has nothing to do with the speed your 360 reads them ..

Yeah...I thought the same thing, which is why my flashed 360 is current at 2X. Learn from my mistake, don't do it. Everything runs fine, but load times are a pain. The only nice thing about a slower drive speed is the fact that your xbox keeps a lot cooler. At 2x my 360 runs about 15-20 degrees cooler than
