Hey there AfterDawn, im a first time caller long time listener, and i now have a problem that requires your expertice.
Ok, yesterday I got an update from XboXLive and installed it onto my modded 360. Now this morning when i tried to play GTA it wouldnt work. It went to the desktop and I could move around (view achvmts, games, delete sheet, etc) but it wouldnt load any games. I tried to open tray and nothing is happening. It wont load games, and it wont open the tray, and the little circle-with-a-line-n-it is incesantly blinking. So i got a paper clip and pressed the eject tray button and toOk out my GTA and put in oblivion/gears/COD4(backup)/Katamari/GTA(backup) and it wont load anything. SO... here i am. to recap:
-blinking circle-with-a-line-n-it button in the middle of the 3GreenRingsPower button.
-Tray wont open
-wont load games (any type)
-Occured after XboXLive update yesterday (worked until this morning...)
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanking you in advance

I don't really know if this helps you out or not ,but I have a buddy who's xbox wouldn't eject disk, and it wouldn't ever reg a disk even being init even with the top off,So after looking at it, there is a little white slideing switch underneath the tray and it wasn't sliding all the way over,so after manually slideing it over it would read the disk again and it would eject once, then start screwing up over again. He had to end up buying a new drive. You could look into that. There is a good Tut on lamma for the DVD drive with good pics to use for help.Good luck

only time i ever seen this is when i bricked my hitachi drive trying to spoof it as a ts. i dont know why it happened with your update, but i do know the drive is bricked. the drive is stuck in recovery mode and thats why its blinking like that. you either have to get a new drive, or flash the eeprom or somethin with a chip programmer. theres tuts on how to fix it somewhere, but i would just buy a new drive since its cheaper/easier than flashing the chip.
