Hi everyone!

Maybe I'm just not looking for the right terms, but I can't find the answer to this problem: my wiimote will not connect to the wii when a homebrew disc is running.

More info:

I installed my wiikey today and ran the test and the update on wiikey 1.9s. Everything seems to work fine, I tested a few original games and they work. The wiikey software (1.9) installed with no errors, although I could not use my wiimote in the process- oinly pressing "reset" to continue when instructed. For some reason my wiimote will not connect when I am running the wiikey disc.

When I try to run the config disc - 1.9s isn't recognized. So I downloaded the 1.35 GB GCOS_1.3_Config-USA.iso disc - my wii recognizes it and loads the screen that says "1 game found - press A to continue". But at this point, my wiimote will not connect and I cannot press A!

Any ideas?

The config and update disks run in gamecube mode.

The wiimote wont work on any of them. When it says press A it means A on a gamecube controller.

oh, ok.

Do I need an actual gamecube controller? Or is there a different piece that I need?

No... An ACTUAL gamecube controller. Like the kind you play actual gamecube games with.

*I almost actually thought you were being an actual smartypants, but then I came back to reality and realized you're actually just helping.

I mean, who thinks all of us were actually born with all of the knowledge you actually have?

*I don't expect a serious response to this post, it's merely here to get my postcount up. Kind of like penguin got "up" when he/she thought they were "cool" by replying to a "legitimate" n00b question in a smartass manner.

Keep smiling :D

(Oh, and thanks for the answer.)
