If I buy a wii now would I still be able to chip it, or is it only older versions of the wii can be chipped. and how would I know which version of the wii is it.

and witch mod chip is the best

I just got my wii today, and is modding the wii a dangerous thing to do, would it shorten the wii's life span. and does modded wiis often go wrong.

also which is the best mod chip to go for

New Wiis out now have a different chipset that is not compatible with any chips yet. The D2CKey team is working on fixing the problem though.
