Im not an expert but thought i would post this as a heads up.

Recently had installed the Argon Chip (with the 17wire region mod) in my PAL Wii.

All PAL backups work but Jap NTSC backups do not.

I tried the SAME backups on friends older model Wii with WiiKey and games worked fine!

So i contacted installer and he said couple of other ppl reported same prob. He recommended to swap to the D2CKey but that is not upgradeable (one of the reasons i went with the argon)

I think the D2Pro (9 wire region free) is the way to go for further problems may arise and upgrades seems a good option.

Any opinions appreciated esp from ppl that already have D2Pro Installed.

Cheers
Tony

D2pro is a good chip, I have that one in mine and have installed a few.

Its a easy install, easy to update and rock solid when playing games. Its also region free as long as you install the extra wires.
