Okay so here whats goin down I am way to poor to afford a PS3 so I decided to build one the only thing is i'm missing a few parts
#1 Outer casing(shell)
#2 Rear Power switch
if anyone can help that would be great because once I have those two pieces I would have completed a fully functional PS3.
Please do not say google I already looked

Seriously? You built your own PS3... Gotta give you credit for that.
Don't know where you would get one of those, honestly. Good luck with it, though. I'm not ready to part with either of those off of mine, lol

If I were you I'd just get a PC case and put all the ocmponents into it and do some wire splicing and use the front power buttons on the PC as the rear power switch.

oh, well thanks guys thats really supportive I'll look in to it but really I need one more crucial piece the bd-rom drive (need to save up some) but if and i'm pretty sure will work i'll write a guide.
But right now I think i'll wait for some 3rd party shell looking for a chrome silver would be pretty cool and hopefully I can find some other alternative for the power switch

I think...he bought a used Ps3 that had damaged parts. As for the power supply, Ebay. But for teh casing. Go wild with it. Throw it into an old turntable sorta thing.

Power supply: ebay though a computer's might work, I'm not sure.
Power switch: radioshack/local hardware store and a bit of soldering
BD-ROM: yikes, you'll need to get that from ebay
Case: be creative and build your own, or use a PC case.
Best of luck to you!

if i am not mistaken, the rear power switch is the same as the FAT PS2.
I have opened up both my PS's to clean them up, and i am 90% sure that is the same.
From witch version of PS3 you have more staff added?
I mean it will be like 60,40,80,20?
Cause if you have the CPU from the 60gb you must take care the ventilation.
in case that you find an outer case from the 40gb version.
The 40gb case doesn't have the holes at the front.
Good Luck.
