My Cyclowiz has been detected!! Please Help!!

I haven't played a backup game in a while on my modded wii. I finally tried to play Super Smash Brothers. When I put the game in it asked for an update so I did and then I click the screen to play the game. It look like it wanted to start but a black screen came up and said something about detecting a unacceptable device. Those weren't the exact words but you get the picture. My cyclowiz is Version 2 and I know there is updates but I didn't put the toggle switch on my mod chip. Do you think the update will fix this problem or is it something else.

You should update the Cyclowiz to the latest firmware.

the updates usually work..if it doesn't dont give up hope..the same thing happened to me and i by-passed it. If you really dont get a fix..you can cancel the error out with trucha...search for trucha and read about it.

Does this only happen with PAL versions or does it happen with even NTSC versions also?

It happens with all versions. Its new code in the newer game disc that can detect it. The new firmware for Cyclowiz will bypass that new code.

You can bypass this new code by patching the game disc but that can be a little more complicated. Plus Nintendo could release firmware that can detect a patched game disc and make it unplayable. So it would be better to update the modchip instead of patching the game.
