I have till now burnt 2 disks and both coasters now i am thinking that i am doing something wrong.

After selecting the .dvd file in imgburn do i need to user specify the layer break or should i leave it at calculate optimal. Please also tell the write speed 2.4x or 4x.But please tell if after selecting the .dvd file do i need to specify the layer break manually or not.

With imgburn you must set the layer break manually one time.

Go to tools>settings>write. in layer break (for DL media) tick "user specified". In "sectors l0:" you need to put 1913760 for the layer break. click ok.

Hope this helps. I don't use imgburn, but I believe this is the main problems why people burn coasters with this program. they forget,or don't know they have to set that manually the first time.

I burn all my discs at 2.4. Results may vary.

Like I said, i don't use imgburn, but, from my reading....yes you must set the layer break manually the first time.

After that whether you select the .dvd file or just the .iso is a guess on my part, but I don;t think it matters after you set the layer break manually, which is a must with imgburn.

I'm not guessing when I say imgburn MUST be set manually to the layer break I mentioned above.

Sorry for the double post, but I may be wrong. I'd edit my last post, but I feel this needs it's own post.

After reading some other posts on here...one that you have even posted in, nobody mentions setting the layer break manually in imgburn when calling the .dvd file. I was under the assumption (more like understanding) that regardless what is called (.dvd or .iso), it must be manually set in imgburn. So what ever. there is a ****ton of misinformed people on this site that try to help by guessing.

Yes, I realize i mentioned guessing in one of my posts above, but that was only on what file you call to burn AFTER you manually set the layer break in imgburn. It won't matter what file you call to burn (.dvd or the .iso) because the layer break is set manually. It will still call the same file to burn...and if set manually, the layer break is known.

This site is full of misinformed people it is crazy. The blind leading the blind.

But that's for another thread.

btw...clonecd is so much better imo. As well as good media.

can anyone who has used IMGburn give suggestion please whenever i select the .iso file imgburn automatically selects the .dvd file saying next time select the .dvd file. Now the problem lies is i know that the .dvd file has layer break info so even after selecting the .dvd file do i need to manually set layer break again from the write tab or not.
Earlier in 1 occassion i set the layer break and selected the .dvd file and the game only ran for 5 minutes so is this a area where i am making a mistake.

The layer break only needs to be set manually if you are burning the ISO file, Not when burning a .DVD file. But it will not hurt anything if you want to set it anyway, you will just have to switch it if you plan to burn any other dual layer disc that is not an Xbox 360 game.

I set mine manually the first time around and then just left it that way. That way whether i burn the .DVD or the ISO i am fine.

4X is the write speed i would use, but that is only if the DVD media you have is either 6X or 8X max speed. If it is lower i would set IMGburn to burn at 1X.

and by the way they do not look kindly on people who multi post the same questions over and over. I was just in two threads that you started yesterday that were roughly about the same thing as this on. Just keep using that same thread rather then starting another thread about the same thing.

your burner will generally override the settings you put in there anyway. For my discs which are a 6X max speed the 1X or 2.4X is just too slow. So i set mine for 4X. It will normally burn all of your discs at a little over 1/2 the max speed the disc allows.

But if you look at the actual log on IMGburn it will show you the TRUE burning speed that is being used. Like in my case i set it to 4X but the average burn speed is usually like 3.8X and will go slightly up and down during the burn process.

What you set it to is not the true speed your burning at in most cases.

Stick with one thread on burn problem/questions cause you've posted them in several.
Not only is it the rules but it helps to get this sorted for by having the info in one thread not spread out all over the place.

ok guy. you are making this way too hard on yourself. dont worry about the kind of verbs. you can fine tune later, just get the verbs put it in. select the .dvd file with img burn and burn it at 2.4x. thats it. this is becoming a wastefull post. if the game dosnt work, make sure you got it from a good source, and it is compadible with whatever region xbox you have. we can help you with that later, IF IT DOSNT WORK][ NUF SAID<

I will be the first to admit if I was wrong. I was always under the assuption that imgburn had to be set manually with the layer break. But after reading all this, he's having another issue.

Sorry if I gave the wrong info. As I said, I don't use imgburn. But, it still doesn't explain his problems though from what I am gathering from this thread.

I will bow out gracefully and leave it to someone else.

I have used both, and yes I do prefer clonecd. I like to stick to what works for me.

I do use imgburn though to rip my backups if needed lol.

Is there any difference between blue colored Verbs and silver colored ones some say that blue ones aren't compatible with all 360's is that true.

And searched for correct write speed and everyone here has different opinion some say 4x some even burn at 6x or 8x.My verbs only support till 4x so i may be burning at 2.4x hope it works.
