Hi,
Im a total noob to this, didn't know where to post if I posted in the wrong forum sorry but I really don't know what to do anymore.
I'd just like to know what I have to do to my Xbox to play backups
I've looked at the tutorials and asked people and they all say different things, like this is a BenQ drive,Toshiba, etc and that I only need a firmware not a chip some say I need a chip, really confused now.
its a benq drive, a quick 2 second google search would have told you that. you need a via 6421 PCI sata card to flash it unless you have a compatible chipset on your motherboard. and once you flash the drive, you still cannot play games from other regions unless those games are region free.

thanks, do i need that exact via 6421 PCI or can it be some other one?
and which firmware must i use? the iXtreme 1.4?i have an intel motherboard.
nforce4 chipset or 6421 chipset works with flashing a benq. I bet others work too, but I can't say for sure.
If you don't have onboard sata...get a via 6421 sata card. if you do have onboard sata ports, I say give it a go...it will probably work if you understand what you are doing.
