My son turned off his white slim Darth Vader PSP-2001 before an update was completed and now his PSP is bricked. I have tried about eight times following the guide to a T and after selecting option 4 for the Universal unbricker, I keep getting the same error message..'3'.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Please help!!!

I have a pandora battery. Do I need to use the pandora battery instead of the regular battery when I am creating the memory stick?

No, you use your regular battery to make the MMS, but your pandora when you are actually unbricking.

THIS guide will show you exactly how to do it from scratch.

I have the pandora battery set aside for when I am actually unbricking the psp. I got past that initial 3 exe problem because I used the updated link at the begining of the thread re: guide for ubricking psp but now when it starts to copy the files onto the memory stick, after copying about 6 files, it stops and goes to the thank you screen. When I open the drive to see the files, there are no files on the memory stick. I did it three times and each time it I encountered the same problem. Please help!!!

Sorry, which link did you use? I used the one i linked you to for my PSP, and it works perfectly, really easy to follow with pics etc. You only need to do the Magic Memory Stick part obviously as you already have a pandora.
Just download the files and follow the instructions and you should be fine :)

EDIT: Are you using Vista on your PC? if so the MMS may not create correctly. i think i remember seeing a guide on here about a Vista compatible MMS creator though...

OMG!!! You are absolutley the best!! Thank you so much. We have successfully unbricked the psp. It is absolutley amazing. My problem was that I wasn't extracting the Universal File properly. But I followed the guide and the screen shots were a great help. Thanks again.

One more question though. For future use, how do I charge the pandora battery?

To charge a pandora, take out your battery and plug in the AC adaptor. Switch on your PSP, then put the battery in. it will then begin to charge.

Did you figure out the MMS problem then?
