I brought my wii to a friends house (wasabi and wii clip) because he bought some vietnemese games. I thought they might not be legit because of weird packaging, and it didn't work on a friends wii with freeloader. Anywy I put them in and got a DRE. tried a few more and got a DRE again. Two of them I needed to press the eject button twice. After that I just decided to play one of my original games. It also got a DRE. I tried many times, and the disc would work on my friends wii. I looked on the foreign games serial number and found out it was, in fact pirated. I thought that it was probably the colored label at the top of the disc that caused this, even though it was pressed onto it. After a while of me holding the disc in the wii and pulling it out, my game worked. Then I pu in a different game and got DREs again. I took the wii apart and cleaned the laser and adjusted the pot. I also confirmed the modchip was working correctly by the led. Anyone having any ideas? on of the shorter ribbon cables in the drive you can see the metal pads, but it wont go in any further. I could not check that the data cable was connected at the wii mobo because I don't know how to fully remove the silver cover.
