How do i get my mp4's to play on my PSP

I've been googling all kinds of info on this and haven't gotten anything that I can understand. I already have my dvd's ripped and converted to MP4 format, but when I put them onto my memory stick my psp is saying it's an unsupported format?

All searches seemed to point me towards PSP 9 but I don't see anything on there that will get my current MP4's onto my PSP? Can someone explain in newbie lingo how to get them on my PSP?

when you ripped it did you set it to xvid or divx if so it will be unsupported

try converting the exaisting mp4 files with super video converter google it and convert it to the psp format

also if the video size is bigger than 480x272 then it wont be supported

I used handbrake and changed it directly from a DVD to mp4 QuickTime format to use on my iPhone. They work fine on my phone so I would have thought they'd work on the Psp but apparently not. So after hearing this info do you still offer the same suggestion?

btw you said to convert the existing files. Convert them to what? I thought mp4 is what they need to be?

Convert them with winnydows.com xvid4psp wonderful app for converting vids to psp even has a new dvd riping option
