I have just bought a second hand PSP. It has firmware version 3.30 on it. I would like to
install the custom M33 firmware on there, but was just wondering:
1) Can you play CSO/ISO games direct from memory card with M33?
2) If so, can you play over a wireless network against people who have the UMD game?
3) Can you save games?
4) Does the M33 software provide all the features of the latest official firmware?
5) Does it support 4GB+ memory cards?
6) What benefits does M33 provide? (I can't seem to find a 'features' list for it)
7) What do I do to install M33?
I think there is a guide on this forum somewhere for the last question, so feel free to
simply post the link, but if anyone wants to PM me instructions for my specific firmware
version then that would be superb!
Thanks,
Thomas
Hi
the answer to your first 6 questions are all yes, and THIS is the guide you need for the downgrade (question 7). Have a read and post back with any more questions, il do my best to help you out :)
2) yes (ad hoc is a bit funny some times) but umd to umd is fine
3) yes m33 has a built in rip just select the usb to be the umd and plug it into the computer
or you can use filer 4.9 or umd dumper and rip them on the go direct to the memory card
4) yes i.e 3.90m33 has the same sony capabilitys as 3.90 but not 3.95+
5) yep other wise i would have a problem lol
6) basicly it allows you to run unlisenced code (homebrew - emulators e.t.c) play iso games of the memory stick play the latest games (if you have the latest cfw) customise the theme. the list goes on and on thats why there isnt one realy
7) well if you have lumiuns you can downgrade to 1.50 (homebrew capable) and then update to cfw (3.52m33-4 and then higher MUST be 3.52m33-4 before you can update higher)
or you can use pandoras battery to go direct to the newest cfw and then you will have to install the 1.50 kernel addon for homebrews
hope that helps explain it (humm second time today lol)
yer there is a guide for pandoras battery (read the one that works for ofw note you will have to hard mod or buy a datel tool battery for it to work though)
Hi, thanks for all your help! I managed to downgrade and install the custom firmware with no problem. Been playing some CSOs and everything seems fine! Even been playing with the MasterBoy emulator :)
One question, is there an N64 emulator? I am looking mainly to play Mario Kart.
