I am having trouble backing up some of my games with XBC, I have been using schtrom as its just one click and leave it, but schtrom gets stuck on the .ss bin. Rips only take 20-ish minutes most of the time but sometimes schrtom will just sit at the .ss bin for ages (ive left it up to 15minutes).
Only problem with using XBC is that i have to extract the .ss bin to make it read the disc properly (around 6.95 Gig) this enables the start button so i can rip it and i have to manually get the vid section from schtrom afterwards then inject it. After this the iso passes all test with xbc and dvdmulleter, but i have no verbs to verify all is well.
So my question is how to get XBC to rip the video partiotn before unlocking the disc and why (until i start ripping) does it say it is 4 TB in size?
I am using my ms28 (powered by 360) flashed with xtreme5.2a and the 0800disc,
VIA SATA PCI Card with correct chipset
On board sata disabled, raid disabled, no raid utilities installed
Shortest poss sata cable, 360 is actually partly inside the pc case
2gb ram and a 2.3ghz x64 AMD Athlon Dual Core so computer is NOT struggling to process what it is given.
I also have all the latest drivers.

I also use a ms28 (powered by connectivity kit) which I leave permenently flashed with 0800.
I use XBC 2.8. I select the ms28 (shows as a 25) in the drop down box. I have to also select the ms28 in the options tab (every time I rip, won't stay selected). I set the read speed to 8x. I do not select the unlock drive. I select complete backup. And that's it. XBC rips everything. I don't have to rip anything separately.

I have tried the 0800 firmware and mine also showed as a ms25, I cant remember why i swapped to the 0800 disc, i think it wouldnt read properly, will try the firmware again later or tommorrow and let you know exactly what was up with it. AS it is now using the 0800 disc I check the T-S drive on options as you describe and then put my disc in i get

Still 4TB so xbc thinks drive is already unlocked and start button not clickable. Sometime extracting the SS helps and lets me rip the disc with video filled with zeros hence why i get the video iso separate from schtrom. Other times i get an error on trying to get the SS file. Somethign about not enough time to perform operation then this practically freezes the whole pc. will post next tiem i see.
This only happens on certain discs (some are virtually brand new no scratches) COD4 and assasins creed are two off top of my head.
Could you PM the 0800 firmware you are using as i have no idea which version i have im sure one of them dont work on the ms28.

We can't send attachments through pms. But I got the 0800 bundled with the original Xtreme firmware. It's the actual 0800 firmware, not the .iso. I got that off Xbins. If you can't get in to Xbins, then eurasia.nu will have it.
Did you install MS Framework 2.0 or higher?

The one I used is off xbins it was bundled with the xtreme samsung package, is that the right one or do i want one bundled with an older xtreme firmware?

Hi been playing all day, have got framework 2.0 installed, has been from the beginning, I dont use the 0800 firmware because i get errors everytime with BOTH programs no matter what disc is in. Using the 0800 disc only around a third of my 360games will rip, and its the discs not randomly.
In Schtrom they get to extracting ss.bin then just sit there with the clock ticking away in the bottom right of window. I click cancel but then it freezes my pc. In XBC the discs are showing as 4TB and i do not have the start button, sometimes if i rip the ss.bin i can THEN use the start button but must get the video iso seperate.
I have tried to get everything individually with schtrom but the game .iso and ss.bin wont extract, i get the error: read error after 1 sector, normal for xbox1 discs, should not happen with xbox 360 discs.
This is now really really annoying as i can rip some games over and over but others wont do anything.
discs ripped are
GTA 4 *excellent disc condition* schrtom
Assasins creed *slight scratches* had to use XBC then inject video
NFS Carbon * fairly scratched* schtrom worked
motogp 06 *quite scratched* had to inject video
stranglehold *quite scratched* schtrom worked
king kong *light scratches* schtrom
Forza 2 *miracle it reads at all, very bad* xbc, then sctrom to inject real video.
Problem discs.
saints row *fairly bad but worked with hotswap method*
COD 4 modern warfare *as new*
Flat out ultimate carnage *fairly light*
test drive unlimited *fairly light*
dead rising *fairly light*
gears of war *only 2 or 3 and very lght*
All problem discs crash schtrom at ss.bin, all read in xbc as 4TB, can get dmi, pfi, video iso, but not game iso or ss.bin. YET ALL PLAY 100% ON THE 360 (WHICH I AM USING TO RIP). Hope you appreciate how annoying and confusing this is for me and hope someone knows of a solution.

Yes I can. I'm truly stumped. Have you tried using a lower read speed with XBC?
I have had a couple of problems with XBC before. But just a couple. And all issues were resolved with simply ejecting the disc, looking at it and saying to myself "wtf... there's nothing wrong with this", and retrying.

Well ive done more fidling, system restoer to 2 days ago when i first started ripping my games with my 360 instead of hotswap, didnt help, so i read and read and read and found ina forum some one used a different driver for their card [url= http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/VIA_RAID_V520A.zip][/url] so i used this driver and tried the 0800 firmware again. Now XBC is reconising the video partiton as approx 5.53mb and i have a start button!!

I have been doing more reading and fiddling and once i press ok on the error inlast post it XBC tries reading the SS again and fails. I have noticed however if you insert a game and it picks up the video partiton of 5.xx meg and then go, drive options, get region code or unlock disc it cannot open the game partition. So i beleive this is my main problem, any ideas anyone?
