im looking for a hdcombo and dms4 modchip for my slimline, i can only find broken links and sold out stock. if anyone can help me out in finding these items it would be greatly appreciated. also im a total newb to the idea of modding but i believe the above is something i need, if anyone else has some idea or products they recommend please respond or pm me. (soldering is no issue). all i want to do is be able to back games up onto a internal hard drive with my ps2. whatever you guys think will do the job please let me know, i need to set something up before im deployed in a couple months.

Only place I've seen DMS4 being sold is consolesource.com, but they don't ship to the states. You can pick up HD Combo from this site.
You're also going to be needing a laser fix, to prevent laser from dying. Not necessarily required since you'll be using the HD but will prevent your laser from dying.
Assuming you already know that this can only be done to v12/v13 PS2's.

well, im scrapping the slimline idea. i was given a v4 fatty with network adapter. i really liked the dms4 and toxic os ive read about, is there anything capable of ripping games to the hd from the actual ps2? i would really like a modchip versus an exploit and a 200gig cap. the whole toxic os got me extremely interested in this a year ago now im trying to build a setup and it looks to be not as easy as id hoped.(acquiring the hardware i need)

HD loader is capable of ripping games to the HD via the PS2 laser. Though this is really slow and will wear down your laser. It is much faster to rip the games to your PC then transfer them via and IDE connection.
Any modchip with DEV modes would really come in handy.
Let me know if you need any help with the V4, I got a fat PS2 with a HD in it.

do you have a modchip in your ps? if so which one. id like people to chime in with likes and dislikes for something that would suit my needs. id feel better about buying something if i can talk to somebody that has one in already

Yep, I've got a slim with a crystal chip 2.0 (pics in my profile). Got a couple of fats with duo 3 ultra's. First started out with swapmagic though, so I am familiar with that as well.

well i made a step forward and went with a matrix infinity chip. looks to have what i need, and looked like a reputable manufacturer.

thanks, i actually found that and it was the deciding factor in my chip choice. just all around all the info i think ill need. now if i can only make sense of how your supposed to run codebreaker off the hd. and i still do not fully understanding xploits, memory cards etc..
