Going to download and install overnight, going to look into what it includes in the meantime.

I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up that a PS3 firmware update (v2.35) will be released shortly. This is a relatively minor update to improve stability of some PS3 titles.

I just want to clarify that this upcoming firmware update isn?t related to GTA IV. For those of you who may still have an issue playing the game on your PS3, we have identified a solution that should resolve the issue. You can contact SCEA Consumer Services for support ? their contact info and hours of service, as well as more information on this issue, are available in our Knowledge Center (http://playstation.custhelp.com/).

Yes the minor updates are rather disheartening but at least they're actively fixing issues. What puzzles me is that if it was a minor update why the .05 jump usually it is a smaller number. I wish they would release change logs idk why they don't.

They should release change logs. For what reason could they possibly not want us to know what's in the new firmware?

Because they don't want us consumers to see all their screw ups I suppose.

You guys are blowing my mind with this foolishness. Change logs are on Sony's site within 24 hours of the update being released.
Here you go, kids.

Relatively small update. The PS store looks nicer though. Canuckerz, do you really have to download and install overnight? For me the updates are downloaded and installed in a matter of 10 minutes. Too bad that the update will not fix GTA issues though.

My internet is crap atm, thats why it takes overnight.

And I don't call:

a proper change log, but it's still better than the PS Blog. Thx for the link.

Other new or revised features in version 2.35 (with 2.30):
Game

* New for 2.35: System stability during use of some PLAYSTATION®3 format software has been improved.

Video

* Blu-ray Disc playback now supports DTS-HD Master Audio? and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio? output.*
* The PS3? system does not support playback of DTS-ES and DTS 96/24 for DVD-Video or DTS-ES Matrix for Blu-ray Discs.

That's the "proper changelog". I personally find it a bit unreasonble to expect Sony to list every improvement for every game, app, or service.

What I quoted was the only thing that was changed in 2.35, the rest of it was what was contained in the 2.30 update.

They should have a full changelog constructed already. Every programmer regardless of what division creates a changelog as memo's to what they have fixed so if something screws up suddenly because of what they changed they will know where to look. I don't think it's unreasonable for them to simply post what they already have made up its not some tedious task.

According to IGN, in Japan, this firmware upgrade for a specific game includes the opportunity to save game footage and directly upload it to Youtube--which is a pretty damn cool feature.

EDIT Here's the link: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/874/874506p1.html

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

That is pretty damn cool, was that part of the update only released in japan or something?

According to the link that Mr_Pink put up, only the Japanese game Mainichi Issyo has the ability so far. The firmware update made the feature possible, but the feature itself still has to be incorporated into existing games for it to work. Still pretty damn awesome. Hopefully, studios can incorporate it in to existing games via patch or something. :)
