Hey guys i have been trying to replace my bricked hitachi 47dj drive for a new one that i baught. So as i understand it i don't have to spoof since is the same drive so all i have to do is change the key. So i got the key from my bricked drive and put it into the new drive. So here is how i did it. I had already copy the bricked drive's key which i got from 360 firmware toolbox, open the new drive firmware replaced the key with the bricked ones. the when up to tools, then i choose direct drive flash (grd only) i choose flash keys. It flashed the keys. To make sure it was working i dumped the new drives firmware and it confirmed it had the new key. I shut down the computer, disconnected sata cable from computer and then connected xbox360 sata cable, powered it up but it doesn't work. I can't eject or anything.

i did the 2 wire trick which i already know how to do since thats how i bricked the first. Anyone know what i am doing wrong. Oh yeah i have the new drive's firmware but only with the replaced key already i dont have the real original one. is that gonna be a problem?

What is the drive you are replacing the hitachi with?

Edit:

Nevermind.I missed the part that it is a Hitachi as well.

If it's another 47dj, just put your old pcb board on the new one and all will work great.

i replaced the pcb board into my new one. It still doesn't eject. If i cross the wires wrong will it go into b mode? because am assuming am crossing them right because it goes into b mode.

Forgive my answer above. I have no idea what I was thinking. Of course it isn't going to work that way because you bricked the pcb board basically. I have no idea what I was thinking. Actually, I kind of know what happened. I was reading two different threads and got them confused. Very sorry about that.

Anyway, I am not sure why it's not working for you. I am also not sure why you are doing the 2 wire trick.

how do i restore the hitachi drives to factory state or is that even possible? I want to restore the new drive to factory state then replace then start from the beginning again.

restore.bat is what you need to do. But I am confused at what you are doing any way lol.

After putting the drive in mode B and getting back into windows, you should try the restore.bat. That of course is assuming you have used the "open command window here."

There is a great tut on this site on how to flash an hitachi drive. I hope you followed it....or do now.
