alright, heres the deal: my friend tinkered with the flash0 in his PSP, i warned him to create a back-up of his flash. he did and i dont know what he tried to do with his flash but his is now semi-bricked. i tried to recover it by replacing the damaged flash0 with the back-up one, but it fails to access the XMB menu.

i tried recovering it by putting a recovery folder in the game folder and launch it via recovery menu. still wont work! it just goes blank and switches off in 10 secs (as with any other attempt). are there any other suggestions?

He probably didn't back up correctly, maybe he didn't "show hidden files" in folder options or something...

anyways, have you tried pandora? is he using a slim or a fat?

we cant, the guy who did it in the first place has done it a couple of times already and fefuses to do it again due to the time it consumes. but i'll see if he didn't show all hidden files.
