hey guys i have a ps3(60gb) but i want to hook it up to the internet at home and release its full power but the thing is when it comes to things like this im f*#kin useless & i mean really useless lol.so what i want help with is 1.how to set it up to the internet 2. how to store music, video & themes onto it & last but not least what cables & wires i need! i know you guys probably get asked the same Qs over & over again but i would really appriciated if someone out there could help me with this?? cheers guys!

okey doky,
FOR THE INTERNET=
go to network settings from when you start it up(take out the game first)then go into network connection settings,then pick easy,then wait a second till its done,then pick either WIRELESS or WIRED,(to check if your internet is wireless pick WIRELESS and your internet connection name should come up),if not then pick WIRED,(you wil have to use a wire that looks like this http://support.onshore.net/images/ethernetvsphone.jpg then just keep following the settings pick automatic
TO STORE AND SAVE MUSIC=
put a cd that you want to save on to the ps3 and you press triangle on the cd pictue then pick copy and there you go.
HOW TO STORE AND SAVE VIDEOS=
you will have to change the video type first you download(on your computer now)ps3video9,then download or put a dvd into your computer and open the ps3video9,then look for a button that says file and open the dvd in ps3video9 or the downloaded video and you follow the steps on how to do it if you need anymore help with that search the video(how to save videos to my ps3)(i dont know what to do cause you see i am using the internet on my ps3 my computer is broken)then you need to save the video on to something you can stick into something that you can put into the usb ports or the card slot on the ps3 then press triangle on the card or usb thing and click display all then press triangle on the video file and click copy and let it copy
HOW TO STORE THEMES ON THE PS3=
the fastest way to get themes onto the ps3 is to go on the internet on the ps3 and search google for ps3 themes then click the download button on the theme you want then exit internet then go to theme settings on the ps3 and select your theme.

hey dublin 07 i followed the instructions and yes it is wirless my WLAN security setting is WEP but its asking me for my WEP key i dont know what it is or how to find it can you help? im with eircom if that helps?

Whoever setup your wireless network setup your WEP key. Ask the person who set it up, or call your ISP and ask them how to can find it out/change it. It's just a security password so that other people across the street can't steal your internet.

with quite a few wep based wifi if you look at the wifi hub that emits said wifi look at every label including taking any covers off. it may have it written on it.

hey guys i had to go out for a while but im back. when i sigend up for broadband eircom actually sent it to me and i set it up meself. is there any other way i can get or is it really nessacry?

ok ur from dublin what part?and to find your password go on the internet on your computer and write in the address bar 192.168.1.254 and thats your ip adress then click on wireless and turn your privacy to off its easier to do then save it then go back to the first post i gave to u and do what i told u in HOW TO SETUP THE INTERNET wb asap
