I just tried Call of Duty 4 on Xbox 360. It has a handy friends list, that will let you connect to whatever game server your friends are on. Is there any way to connect to this network via PC?

I'd like chat, but I don't need it, I just want to be able to find where my friends are without calling them on the phone (our clan has a standing rule to dissable all instant messengers durring gameplay).
