Hi,

I figured out that I have custom firmware on my PSP since I can play cso files off the memory stick. At the moment I can play (with no UMD in the slot, No-UMD:Enabled) Sonic Rivals, NFS, and Worms. I have tried a few other games (the second Wipeout, Iron Man and Superbike Championship) and on these it just quits without even starting it giing me a "game could not be started error: 80021048 or something like that".

Could this be a) because i have no UMD in the slot (don't have any UMDs at the moment to check this)
b) because i have a earlier version of the firmware? (in settings it says 3100EA-R+).

How can I upgrade to 3.40 CF? I have tried getting the winstaller, but it doesnt work (when i run it it just gives me a "illegal instruction error"). Also is there any newer firmware that i can easily upgrade to or is 3.40 fine?

u need a UMD in ur psp to play any game of ur memory stick
